Above the 12th Fret
Part Deux

View of guitar with raised fingerboard

If you are a player who spends a lot of time in the upper positions on the classical guitar, you may find the ergonomics to be less than ideal.

There are two common modifications which can improve playability in the upper positions. One approach is to raise the fretboard above the body of the instrument. The other solution is the cutaway guitar body.

While some players prefer a cutaway guitar, others find the raised fingerboard to be a preferable solution to the problem.

At Prenkert Guitars, players have their choice between these two options. Please contact us if you would like to discuss the pros and cons of these two solutions.
